Giant Ichthyosaur by RAPHTOR The waves lapped against the carcass like goodbye kisses. The tide was lowering. Soon the ichthyosaur’s mass would press on itself, push the bones and fat and flesh to the sand, settling like a dropped mountain. Somehow the flies hadn’t found it yet, but the pterosaurs had, and their little nibbles in the flesh were like pale freckles across the slate-grey hide. Waves rolled, spilled around the dead reptile. Archosaurs darted on the sand, hesitant to get their feet wet, patient for the tide to completely recede and the feast to be available before the mass bloated with rancid gasses. -- source link
