larkoftheriver:ultra-mangos:larkoftheriver-fr:ultra-mangos:larkoftheriver:fishblr, my pleco’s little tummy looks weird! Its been sort of making me nervous. He’s an albino bristlenose, and his stomach looks black. Is that normal? He’s acting normal, but I can’t help but feel something’s wrong. Anyone know what could be making his stomach look like that? I tried to get a good shot but he doesn’t eat on the glass very often. What do you feed him?On occasion algae disks, but I haven’t been doing so very often. I’ve had him for about two weeks and he seems content just eating what’s on the plants, decor, and gravel. I feed my other fish tropical flakes and sometimes frozen bloodworms for a treat. He needs a more varied diet than algae disks, he’s possibly not getting enough fiber and getting too much grain filler depending on what the disk is composed of and what brand. Try giving him some zucchini, sweet potato or squash, you’ll also need a piece of driftwood in there, as BN’s do rasp on wood .(crap, wrong blog)Where would be a good place to find driftwood? I have a farlowella/twig catfish as well and i hear they like it too. I’ll try the sweet potato, next time I put food in the tank for the guppies so they don’t steal it from him.Any pet store that sells fish will have driftwood, like Petco or Petsmart, it’ll be labeled under mopani wood. And the guppies probably won’t even notice the sweet potato, just cut one in half and give it to him raw and use a fork or metal skewer to keep it from floating or moving around. -- source link
