devoursjohnlock:monikakrasnorada:mrskolesouniverse:If someone asked me to choose only one strong evidence for the fact that S4 and, especially, TFP wasn’t “real”, I’d like to show THIS.Look at the title.LOOK.Do you need more evidence?(Thanks to @impossibleleaf for this gif)I couldn’t agree more, @mrskolesouniverse. It makes me itchy just looking at this because I know they’ve given us everything we need to figure this out. And, I think we are getting there, but all of this Eurus business is getting in the way. I look at that gif you posted here and find it so interesting. We’re watching this film (the surface narrative) but hidden in flashes, is what lies beneath- The Final Problem. The slick, sexy film is interrupted with the idyll of a perfect family. A family that appears to have not a care in the world, even though Mycroft and Sherlock appear to be the age around which all the turmoil of Eurus must have been happening. And, this doesn’t appear to be pre-Eurus, or surely we would see her there. But, we don’t because she isn’t real. This is something that happened between Mycroft and Sherlock. And Mycroft is still lying. It’s up to us to get to the truth. @mrskolesouniverse Yes, absolutely! Here it is frame by frame:First, the “title bump” that we normally see (though not in every episode) is interrupted by an unusual movement. Second, the blue colour wash that I’ve come to associate with The Devil’s Foot creeps into every other frame. And third, that frame with the unusual movement? It features a “record” of the Holmes family’s past, and a drastic change to the title font. This frame lends a feeling of unreality to both Mycroft’s movie-watching scene and to the Holmes family record. @monikakrasnorada “…but all of this Eurus business is getting in the way”Truer words were never spoken! I have much better results by ignoring this red herring of a character completely. After I’ve finished with S4, maybe I’ll loop back around and give her a look. Maybe. -- source link
