Sandy Hook, San Bernardino, Columbine, Virginia Tech…pick a school or campus. Tragic events, all having little or nothing to do with imposing on someone’s 2nd Amendment rights. How many more innocent people have to die? Couple of things… actually. So called assault rifles were not used in the shootings mentioned.. columbine shotguns and a few handguns were used… sandy hook in which conspiracy theories abound.. an ar 15 was found unfired in the shooters trunk. He used a stolen handgun.. san Bernardino the killers used weapons that were illegal to possess in California. And the orlando shooter used a sig mcx not an ar15. His weapon was in truth a larger than normal handgun that fired handgun ammunition. What you call an assault rifle typically an ar 15 type firearm is in truth nothing more than than a semi automatic (that means I dont have to cock it again every shot) they are not assault rifles or assault anything. This equals nothing less than stupidity and ignorance from the left claiming an ar 15 was involved everytime whether one was present or not. An assault rifle by the way is in truth a rifle that has the capability to fire fully automatic (not semi as mentioned above) these are illegal to possess in many states and those where it is legal must possess a very difficult to obtain license. (I can get one here but I dont know anyone that has one) further more Orlando would not have happened if the fbi had not been so afraid of seeming “anti Islamic” that they could not do their jobs. The European attacks were carried out on countries where the citizens cannit own guns but the terrorists had fully automatic ak47s (true assault rifles if you were paying attention) their gun laws did not keep them safe because criminals and terrorists do not follow laws…. duh! -- source link
