nobylu:I’ve been spending a lot of time posting H:tP art, but I haven’t yet shared my VTM character yet. He has not seen very much action in game yet, but there’s quite the tale behind him because, you see, It all started when the DM said “to hell with balance, you can be a 4th generation vampire from 42BC if you make a case for it”“Can I be a 9th generation 145 year old Tzimisce haunted victorian doll boy”Needless to say, the DM said yes and Oleander Morley, certified horrible devil child and walking content warning, was born. Oleander hails from the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia, where he’s enjoyed a nice, comfortable, consequence-free life living with his coal and rail baron sire in the middle of the National Radio Quiet Zone. Things would be swell save for the accusation of diablery that has forced Oleander to leave so things can cool down, which has lead him to be on the west coast just in time for the game he’s in to take place. Mechanically, Oleander has some fun little quirks that make him extra special to play. The first is that I took advantage of the “1 dot flaw for 1 dot advantage” rule the DM put in place and took on a flaw and advantage in almost every single category. Humanity of 4 resulting in a -2 to social rolls? Not if you have a 4 dot appearance granting you +2 to social rolls. Want to have a place to stay? Lets take on Organovore, a trait that turns your vampire from a blood sucker to a cannibal. Want to have perks for the house? Take on “Living in the past”, remember that your character is related to a coal baron, and make him classist as all hell. Got lots of experience from being a 9th generation elder vampire? Blow the dust off Koldunic Scorcery and make him an earth bender. Oleander is fun to play. Oleander is fun to think about. Oleander is fun to draw, because he’s a shitty little uncanny valley doll guy who canonically would be considered stunning if it wasn’t for the fact that he’s obviously dead and thus anatomical errors are a fucking feature in his art. -- source link
