She gets her turn in the white hot spotlight when she inadvertently invents necromancy, a dubious fame and power that might bring out the very worst in her. Starting with a new face! Our previous ENVY has been dethroned by…Magda Alder. Best known ‘round these parts as the Magnificent Master Shapeshifter Morgan Daubenmire’s bff. In fact, it’s what she’s best known for in her own life. You’re already guessing from context… she’s not at all bitter.Magda is a genius trapped in a wallflower’s body. She is cripplingly defeatist and socially anxious, taken seriously by nearly no-one, respected by few, talked over and down to. So gifted in fact, that over the course of their story she inadvertently invents necromancy by breaking into some seriously next level 'healing’ shit. Ethical dilemmas ensue. She tries to keep these discoveries on the down-low. Morgan of course thinks this is the most metal thing ever but is simultaneously completely terrified of her. Because he knows…Quiet, obedient, squeaking Magda has a dark side. It might even be her true self. Half of her wants to do the right thing. The other half would see this world b-u-r-n, would explode and implode everyone who ever shamed her, hurt her, dismissed her, belittled her. Everyone who left her out. And there are oh-so many. Years after they meet, Magda progresses through precarious growing pains as she, the shy kid, the fat girl, the star student, is thrust into the dubious spotlight of being the world’s first and only master necromancer, capable of full-body possession, of ripping soul from flesh, and raising crowds of undead thralls.Her heart’s desire to be feared and respected comes true, but she will have a reckoning with the side of her nature that yearns to go supervillain with this. In fact, she has a very serious clash with her dearest friend Morgan, who has been through EXACTLY this kind of struggle. And failed. And redeemed himself! But not without serious scars.
