qsy-complains-a-lot: the-roman-way:qsy-complains-a-lot: peashooter85:Reproduction of a 10th century Byzantine lamellar armored cuirass Seems pretty obsolete for the time. Not really obsolete for the period nor environment it was utilised in, to be honest. Lamellar continued to be used well into the 14th century in Western Asia and the Eastern European sphere. The large issue here is that the reconstruction is very poorly made. I was moreso referencing the use of bronze. This shit looks like what the Mycenaean wore to attack Troy. Ah, yes. This reconstruction does indeed use copper and bronze plates which is a major issue. The fresco the reconstruction is based on actually depicts a gilded warrior saint cuirass, but the website which made it is known for these extravagant fantasy reproductions. -- source link
