Yes, I couldn’t agree more!Regardless whether she is new to diaper training or has been in diapers for quite some time, of course she needs to wear also one for a trip, in the first case for the sake of consistency and in the second case for an actual need. When travelling by car, stops can be made individually and changes can either be scheduled or done flexibly by need. That’s why I would recommend just one of her usual nighttime diapers for that purpose. If you are worried that your little Miss Potty-Pants will soak her diaper in between the stops, you could add a pair of plastic pants on top.However, it’s a bit different when it comes to travelling by plane, in particular for long-haul flights. Keep in mind that toilets in aircrafts and airports are small and crowded, and changes would only be possible in a standing position. That’s why I would recommend to put her into one of her nighttime diapers with an additional booster pad for additional absorbency, and I strongly recommend a pair of plastic pants on top. To make sure everything is put on properly, I suggest to put her already in her diapers at home before you head off to the airport. This will give you piece of mind because you don’t need to stress about putting her into her ‘travel diaper‘ somewhere at the airport.Yes, she is definitely not exactly padded subtly, and maybe a few other passengers (those few who aren’t trapped in their own thoughts) might notice that a certain someone still needs to have her diaper on. But the thing is: It doesn’t matter! Her diaper and the amount of padding you chose serve a purpose, which is keeping her pants and several seats at various locations dry.Of course she will protest, but she needs to learn that there is nothing to negotiate about. That’s what being put back in diapers mean: The caregiver decides based on the length of the trip and the mean of transport on the right diaper, and she’ll have to wear it without having a say in the matter. It’s up to her if she wants to focus all the time during the trip on the padding between her legs and all the ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ that come along with that, or if she rather wants to enjoy the trip and all the new experiences, knowing that she is safely diapered. -- source link
