“Hercules” & “Raptis”Hercules, Herculis - the Latin spelling of the Greek hero Herakles. It’s interesting that both Hercules and Aesculapius change their spellings from Greek (Herakles and Asklepios) to Latin by adding a “u.” If any linguists out there can explain that to me, I’d appreciate it. No joy from a cursory trawl of the resources at hand.Raptis from the verb rapio, rapere, rapui, raptum - to seize, but also to hurry away.An appropriate choice for an all-season tire, but they’ve ignored the form in using what should be a participle in the dative or ablative plural. -- source link
