Today’s topic is one of my favorite things to talk about so let’s dive in !Every day I try to take care of my well-being as much as I can, but some days turn out better than others, you can never predict when a wave of sadness or melancholy could hit you and you end up staying in bed all day long, or you have such busy days that you don’t even have a full meal. That’s why I like to implement a “Reset day” into my weeks. For me this day is Sunday. This day I not only take the day off from work, but I try to limit my social media consumption and my screen time as well. This is the day when I indulge in my favorite activities and this day is only mine. Some of my favorite things to do are:Only getting up when my body got enough rest, I sleep in if I need itSome kind of activity that moves my body & heals my back from sitting in a chair all week. This is typically yoga or just some gentle stretches. Making my recent favorite drink (Red Blueberry Tea with honey, lemon, and ginger) Having a dance party to my favorite songs, or I just stare at my ceiling while crying to Arctic Monkeys Journaling - sometimes with prompts, most of the time it’s a word vomit of everything and anything I am thinking and feelingReflecting on last week - goes along with journaling really (check my in-depth post about how I journal + reflect on my week) Watching whatever currently I am obsessed with (yu yu Hakusho and song covers on youtube right now)Cooking, baking - making my favorite pasta recipe for dinner, or pizza, maybe baking with my mom. Loooong shower & body care - shaving, filing my nails, face mask, moisturizing, and having a full-on salon moment Alongside the things that I do, here are some things that I like to avoid or limit doing:Checking social mediaWorry about next week’s tasks - it’s hard really. But when the thought comes up - remind yourself that everything else can wait and taking care of yourself now will give you the strength to face next week’s struggles. Check my emails - My only notifications that are on, but they are off on Sundays for sure.Stress about work I should be doing. No. If it’s not super important & urgent to do then it can wait. This day is for me and my future self will thank me for taking care.Obviously, some Sundays turn out to be very refreshing & fulfilling, but it’s not always the case. Some days turn out to be a whole mess but the important thing is to thank yourself for trying your best. Love you, and take careedith -- source link
