Hello everyone, In a precautionary move to protect visitors, staff, volunteers, and animals amid concerns of the COVID-19 outbreak, we will be temporarily closing the Aquarium and suspending public programming and events for a minimum of three weeks. While there have been no reported cases of infection at the Aquarium, we do feel it is necessary to promote best practices and help protect the public’s health by limiting social interaction. We want to assure the public that we will continue to provide our animals with dedicated, professional care. There is currently a surplus of essential food and medical supplies on hand to ensure the animals continue to thrive. Additionally, the Aquarium will remain in constant touch with state, national, and international veterinary networks to monitor updates, and will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so. During this time, staff will continue to work both on-and off-site, and a dedicated custodial crew will continue to disinfect the main building, Simons Theatre, and staff offices. Any ticket reservations will be honored for later once the Aquarium reopens. Until we return, we encourage you to follow us on social media for updates on our animals, educational content, behind-the-scenes views, and a look at the Aquarium staff that are working hard to protect the blue planet.
