quiettea:Claudette Colvin was 15 when she spontaneously became the first person to refuse to give up her seat on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama, to a white man (preceding the Rosa Parks incident by months). Despite her bravery, her pioneering efforts in the Civil Rights Movement were never recognised at the time because she had a teenage pregnancy.
