Two Loves“You give love to another, but you lose love to yourself”.This piece started as a quick experimentation, which in the end turned into something conceptual and symbolic. Lyrical too I might say. Though I do like to sometimes explain the meaning or feeling behind my own painting, I don’t often point out small details and signs to share the exact meaning of it. I like leaving my art out there for the audience to interpret themselves. But, for this one… I’d like to share you what it’s about. The girl is completely naked and she’s standing in a field of wheat which often symbolises fertility, but you can see that it’s dark and dead. It’s a feeling of lost and coldness. She’s holding two peony flowers close to her chest, as a symbol of prosperity and royalty. She seems shy by covering her breast yet she stands fully naked, she seems calm yet there’s a sense of pain. It’s that ambiguous look to her personality.White snake is an animal of sacredness and mysticality. But you see that it has two heads, and each one of them have such different personality. The air of manipulation, lies, betrayals surrounds the girl.Last but not least, the flowing blood from above and the halo. Blood symbolises life, fertility, creation, and sexuality. The girl is very expressive and sexual, yet she always loses a part of her every time she shares part of her to a loveless individual. Though no matter what, her body and soul will always be sacred, complete, and respected. Hence the halo glows everlastingly around her head.WEBSITE : www.cindyantoinette.comCONTACT : amourinetteart@gmail.comWEBSITE || SHOP INSTAGRAM || DEVIANTART || YOUTUBE || TAPASTIC -- source link
