I’m kind of a sucker for horror anthologies, so it’s no surprise that day 9 of 31 days of my favorite scary movies is 1982’s Creepshow, directed by George Romero and written by Stephen King. I had already become a fan of reprints of the old horror comics like Tales From the Crypt and The Vault of Horror, and this movie really captures the mix of scary and darkly humorous stories that made those comics so enjoyable. All of the tales are good, but The Crate (starring Hal Holbrook and Adrienne Barbeau) with its voracious little yeti-like creature is probably my favorite followed closely by Stephen King’s hilariously ridiculous performance in The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill. -- source link
