viria: I had this idea since late august or so, and it took so long to finally get it done but!! Here it is, I hope you’ll enjoy, sorry it’s so damn long. I kept thinking how what we mostly see is Iwaizumi doing things for Oikawa’s sake, being there for him, so I really wanted to show Oikawa doing the same. And knowing tiny Iwa’s infamous love for bugs, I wanted to do something about it and got…. a bit carried away, I swear I only planned Oikawa giving Iwa a beetle plushie or something… Few details to clear it up about Oikawa’s lie..In my head, they are at the very beginning of their journey. They haven’t been friends for too long, and small Oikawa isn’t quite sure Iwaizumi considers him a friend on the first place. He didn’t want to get too overbearing or to look like he tried too hard (good job on THAT), like it was “no big of a deal”. Just something to make it all better, I’ve read that yellow chrysanthemums symbolize friendship and trust in Japan, and that the growing of the flower can mean the bond deepening, so that’s where I was going with that.
