avoidingclaws-mostly:is-the-fox-video-cute: Posting here as this is very good information.I regularly see posts about sick/injured foxes that are full of comments telling the op to pick up the fox and take it to the vet. Just yesterday I saw a post where someone was asking if an inured fox they’d found would bite them if they picked it up. Never touch a sick or injured wild animal. It doesn’t matter how docile or out of it they may appear, they can switch in a second and seriously injure you. Always call someone like a wildlife rescue, RSPCA or animal control who have the experience and equipment to handle that animal safely. Someone walked into our reception with a badger wrapped in a coat once (badger very much alive and relatively well) and I have never seen so many people immediately freak out in fear for a person’s wellbeing. Please never just pick up a wild or feral animal and attempt to carry it! -- source link
