vicshush:chickpeamcb:Every lake is a graveyard, pay your respects [Text ID : Three grayscale panels of art (a comic?) of a person in a rowboat facing down a ghost. In the first panel, we see a close-up of a startled person seated in a rowboat, frozen in the act of rowing, their arms extended out, body bowing forward. The person has shoulder length hair, a jacket open over a shirt, and wide eyes with dimly glowing white pupils. The front of their body is in shadows, but a glow from behind is limning their shoulders, hair, and the knuckles of their hands, gripping the oars. The person’s mouth is down turned and slightly open. In the second panel, we see the person from behind, standing in the boat. They are partly crouched and leaning toward their right as they rise, or simply shifting to maintain their balance in a rowboat. The person’s back is deep in shadows, but in front of them, facing the rower – and therefore the viewer – is a translucent, glowing shape of an amorphous ghost. The outline of the ghost is basically the classic ‘sheet swooping down from a rounded head’ form. Glowing brightly, suspended within in the approximately appropriate position for a human body, are a pair of lungs and a length of trachea (the windpipe). The lungs appear to be mostly full of a liquid. In the final panel, we now see the person in the boat and the ghost they’re facing from the person’s right side. The person lifts their right hand up toward the ghost, which bows slightly toward the human, the trailing tip of the specter just touching and reflecting on the surface of the still lake. Surrounding the pair are eight more ghosts at various distances, five more with glowing lungs and tracheas. One ghost that’s at the far right has a heart with brightly glowing veins instead. The ghost that is next nearest to the initial ghost has a sharply glowing arc near its neck that spreads out more diffusely across its back. The ghost that is at the aft of the boat has a ropey strand of glowing nerves streaking from the top of the head, toward the rear, and continuing down the back. The ghosts’ translucent forms are mirrored in the almost completely flat lake, only the mild ripples extending from the boat disturbing the surface. /end ID] -- source link
