Disney Channel Acquires Pretty Freaky Scary For Potential Disney TVA Series Adaptation.Our pals at DisInsider have confirmed that Disney Branded Television has acquired the rights of the book Pretty Freaky Scary for a Disney Channel Series adaptation with Disney Television Animation being one of the main contenders as an animated series.Based on the series of books of the same name by Chris P. Flesh Pretty Freaky Scary will focus on young 14-year old Frankie who dies but is given the opportunity to return to Earth with the help of two otherworldly companions named Pretty and Scary. However, when she returns, she has some surprising new abilities, that ensure she makes the most of her life this time around.In the original book Frankie is a boy by the name Franklin but in the Disney adaptation he is genderswapped as a girl. Pretty Freaky Scary is still on early development at Disney Channel so at the moment there’s no showrunner attached, if greenlight the show could arrive on late 2024 or early 2025, it will become Disney TVA’s #107 Series Overall behind the potential greenlight projects of Disney TVA Pilots for Disney Channel by Nic Smal, Luce Heavens, Cheyenne Curtis, Monica Ray and Noah Z Jones. -- source link
