I tend to overthink things - I’ve been wanting to try photographing my felt sculptures to create illustrations for a while, but kept putting it off for not knowing where to start. So this morning I pulled out some stuff I already made, stuck it together, and just snapped some quick photos on my phone - and I really like how it turned out, despite it being obviously unpolished. The faux branch overhanging was a happy accident (it’s attached to the lamp I assembled everything next to) - wouldn’t have happened if I had over-planned it! I’m really thinking about the potential for this as an illustration style I could offer, but at the very least I’d like to make prints of this type of thing and sell them/probably the pieces used for them (I’m working on reopening Mt. Marten!).
