I recently unearthed a book I got when I was very little called “Watercolor for the Artistically Undiscovered”. I flipped through it and it is half-filled from when (I’m guessing) I was about 6 or 7 with pictures that really show how impatient and frustrated I would get - you can see there’s still bristles from where I would smoosh the poor brush to death in the watercolor pans. Even though I usually still feel a little too impatient for watercolor these days, I was compelled to go back through this book. Turns out it’s really good for a guided warmup in the morning to just start putting something on paper and get creative, as the exercises in the book encourage you to be free and just try things out as well as giving some technical tips. The pan it came with is Reeves paint but they are surprisingly well-pigmented, and even the brush it came with is decent enough quality. Here’s a couple of cute little blob guys I painted last week from the first exercise in the book - pretty fun :) #watercolor #markmaking #cutecreatures #blobmonster #creativewarmup https://www.instagram.com/p/B8ZjFNEAhc6/?igshid=lgtgvzyi6cvj -- source link
