Sure, he had intended to friend-zone Fillmore, especially after the situation (per say) on the front step of the Surplus Hut; but whatever happened at the Taste-In last night had made everything completely complicated. His chest tightened as he thought of the dull glow of lava lamps and string lights, of Elvis’s mellow drone, of how it had felt to dance with Fillmore, of how natural it was to kiss him.Sarge ultimately came to two conclusions:(1.) He and Fillmore absolutely could not, under any circumstances, let what happened affect their business relationship.(2.) The best course of action was to simply pretend like it had never happened in the first place.
