One year since moving to a home surrounded by trees, I’m thinking about what they mean to me. Protection, steadfastness, neutrality. When I’m feeling worried or angry, I picture myself as a tree: rooted, present, open limbs outstretched. Or I go outside and watch their branches gently bob in the wind. The world changes around them, but they keep standing quietly. I hope there are always trees. -- source link
