Its time to learn some #FridayFacts about the #MalabarGiantSquirrel:1. The Indian giant squirrel, or Malabar giant squirrel, (Ratufa indica) is a large tree squirrel species endemic to the forests of Peninsular India.2. It is a diurnal and arboreal species. It is an upper-canopy dweller, which rarely leaves the trees and travels from tree to tree with jumps of up to 6 m (20 ft).3. The Giant Squirrel is mostly active in the early hours of the morning and in the evening, resting in the midday. They are typically solitary animals that only come together for breeding.4. When in danger, the Ratufa indica often freezes or flattens itself against the tree trunk, instead of fleeing. -- source link
