Since that first package arrived at my door, I believethere has only been a single day that I have not worn something girly aroundthe house. It’s usually nothing more than pj bottoms and a feminine t-shirt ortop, but it makes my whole world feel right when I put them on.As with any anniversary, inevitably thoughts turn to thepast and what led up to this point. Below is a small sample of some of thethings I have learned during this year.I am a shopaholicI truly am, my closet is overflowing. I am still learningwhat works on me, some of the items do and the others I am sure I can findsomething to go with them to make the perfect outfit!Sizes are just someone’srandom half assed guessSeriously, I am sure there will be some in depthinvestigative reporting soon to confirm this.If it looks good onthe ultra petite anorexic teenage model, it’s probably not for youI know it’s cute and even a bit baggy on her, but you’restill probably going to have to stretch it out of shape to get it over yourhead and the hem won’t cover your belly button.Self checkout isbetter than sliced breadI know people say that no one really cares what you are buying,well they must be shopping in different stores than I am. I also shop the localdiscount store early in the morning. Although there are plenty of boredemployees stocking shelves at that time watching your every move, the odds aregreatly reduced that your ex sister-in-law’s best friend will come around thecorner of the cosmetic aisle just as you are grabbing your favorite brand ofmascara. She knows for a fact that you have no one in your life to be pickingthis up for. And she has a big mouth.Makeup is theultimate game changerOne of the hardest things to learn yet can make the biggestimpact on your appearance. Even subtle changes with your makeup can change yourlooks from “chic princess” to “psychedelic clown turned crackwhore”. Nail polish is liquidhappinessWhen first coming out, Caitlyn Jenner was asked what she mostlooked forward to as a woman. She was widely criticized when her answer wasnail polish, but I get it. Nothing can lift my spirits more!Pantyhose is designedto only run when you are making that last tug to confine everything in thecontrol topI love wearing hosiery but sometimes getting pantyhose oncan be a challenge. And why is it when you do get everything situated justright, it is at that moment you realize you need to pee?Having smoothly shavenand moisturized legs is the best feeling in the world… for about 24 hoursIf I stopped all this tomorrow, I don’t think I could evergo back to hairy legs. But that prickly sensation and bumps in certain areas isdefinitely a turn off. I have tried every trick and product I can find, but stillhave problems. It is getting better, I don’t know if it is what I am doing ormy skin becoming accustomed to shaving.These are just a few of the things I have learned along the way.
