Susan Hilferty | Costume for the character Elphaba in “Wicked” | c. 2003⠀ ——⠀ I decided to force myself get into the Halloween Ooky Spooky Spirit after a car accident (no one was hurt) and then a bout of bronchitis this past week. So I am doing a little ‘13 Days of Halloween’ thing to cheer me up. First up is one of Elphaba’s costumes by Susan Hilferty. She was inspired by William Wallace Denslow’s illustrations to Frank Baum’s 1900 children’s novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. I saw the OBC of “Wicked” on a theater trip to NY when as a young teen and I was forever in love musical theater since then.
