Not that the physical infrastructure is not important but what is increasingly much more important is the transformation of the information and communication structures. These structures are transformation how we see the world as well as how we relate to each other. In short it transforms the most fundamental components in the very core of humanity - the capability of building social groups and societies. When comparing the communications infrastructure to the physical infrastructure like houses we know that the power of communication is that it shapes how we perceive these houses. If the collective perception of a certain physical structure changes it change the complete value of it.The point is that the transformation of our communication structure is likely the deepest change humanity face right now - much more fundamental than the factory, the railroads and even the atom bomb.
