snini-9:So, this one took a while. I decided to paint some cetaceans today and figured I’d paint some of the characters from SUNDER by @uselessmachine. From left to right is Aura, Ava, and Thavul going through some bioluminescent water. I had a lot of fun figuring out how to paint bioluminescence and I really enjoy painting it. It’s awesome to see something go from flat to looking like it’s glowing (kinda) in a matter of a few brush strokes. I tried to keep the characters markings as close to the refs as possible, but it’s not perfect. The smallest brush I own wasn’t small enough, so some of the thinner lines are a little bit too thick, oops. If you haven’t read SUNDER, then I really reccomend that you do. You can find the first page here: www.deviantart.com/useless-mac…Characters belong to @uselessmachine this week’s #Phinart Friday is @snini-9‘s piece ‘Never Alone’!I’m always immensely humbled by any fanart done for Sunder, but it was especially touching to see these characters rendered in watercolor it’s an honor to see them in a real painting, and the beautiful setting of the glowing plankton at the water’s surface mirroring the countless stars above inspires me and makes me want to include a scene like this in the comic itself!you can read Sunder on Webtoons! wanna be featured on Phinart Friday? tag me or submit your art here! -- source link
