Calumma ratnasariae is one of the new species of chameleons we named in February. It’s a rather rare species, restricted to a small area in northern Madagascar. I was fortunate enough to find and collect several specimens of the species, including this female, during Expedition Angano with James Borrell (@james_borrell), Thom Starnes (@thomstarnes), Lawrence Ball (@lawrence_ball), Duncan Parker (@duncanericparker), Jeanneney Rabearivony, Marius Rakotondratsima, and two Malagasy students, Elidiot Razafimandimby, and Denise Herizo Nomenjanahary........#OA #newspecies #science #chamleon #taxonomy #vertebrate #chameleons #Calummaratnasariae #chameleonsofinstagram #chamaeleonidae #Calumma #Calummanasutum #lizard #lizards #lizardsofinstagram #reptile #reptiles #reptilesofinstagram #rainforest #tropical #jungle #animal #animals #animalsofinstagram #animalphotography #wildlife #wildlifephotography #photography #herpetology #Madagascarhttps://www.instagram.com/p/B9mMrloh1Or/?igshid=nqwlp2wqncka -- source link
