wehadfacesthen:Vilma Banky, 1924, one of the great “exotic” stars of the silent era. Born in Hungary, MGM promoted her as “The Hungarian Rhapsody,” which makes no sense but worked as a sales pitch. She is remembered for starring opposite Rudolph Valentino in The Son of the Sheik and The Eagle and for teaming up with Ronald Coleman in several films of romance. She married another actor with a fabulous name, Rod La Rocque, in 1927 and retired after her last film The Rebel in 1933. -- source link
