Magnetizing a compact This lioele volume cookie pact had a plastic tension closure with no button to release the tension. The plastic bit at the top broke off after a while and I stopped using the compact, which was a shame because look at it, it’s gorgeous. After getting a proper hot glue gun, which was a few dollars more than the $1.50 gun at daiso, I was able to use hot glue for more things! I used neodymium magnets that I pulled from Walgreens beauty books which were thing, rectangular sticks. I cut one in half, filed down the extra bits and had magnets that were perfect for the compact. Again, hit glue doesn’t look nice and neat but my compact is now functional and still very pretty on the outside. I know I didn’t utilize elegant techniques, but I was able to magnetized the compact. This type of reuse goal is harder for me to do because I have so many of them. -- source link
