There seems to be a pill for everything nowadays, thankfully even for Covid-19 (which could be a game-changer in the battle against the pandemic), and yet, one problem persists: in contrast to the western world’s overmedication, poorer nations don’t have access to affordable medicine. A 2015 fundraising campaign for the Dutch AIDS Foundation by branding & design studio @dogandpony_ams and consultancy @suebehaviouraldesign drew attention to this paradox by making fun of our inability to see beyond our first world bubble. Have you ever wished for the ability to see unicorns, perfectly time your jokes, or make your farts smell like parfum? The cheekily named “First World Problems Store” had just the right pill for you!
