30 Days of Character Development: Deckard Windsor24.) What might your character’s ideal romantic partner be?Deckard’s ideal romantic partner must be loyal, first and foremost, as Deckard has seen and lived the consequences of infidelity. He would in turn be as steadfast to her as he is in all things.Beyond that, Deckard is far too concerned with “what’s inside” to have anything remotely resembling a “type”–even to the extent that personality types and quirks are of little consequence to him. Even religion matters little as Creator-Destroyer worship is an inclusive belief system. His ideal romantic partner must be good aligned, and preferably lawful. She should wish, as he does, to have children, and she should be able to accept his overprotective nature (and not see it as an insult but as an act of love). He enjoys physical activity and exercise, so it would be preferable if she did as well. Otherwise, she might be dainty or brazen, ugly or beautiful, learned or uneducated, Type-A or Type-B, and Deckard could love her. Princess Leela was the closest thing to his ideal (though political reasons were likely to have kept them apart anyway), and her loss hit him hard. However, because the strongest romantic attachments often begin platonically, Deckard may begin to see his fellow Team Bad Choices member Shagrat the Barbarian as something more than a formidable ally and a noble warrior. -- source link
