If you’re looking for a way to help Ukrainian refugees, the Polish Red Cross and Caritas of the Archdiocese of Przemyśl (in Poland) are actively raising funds and materials to assist those fleeing the invasion. These organizations are providing boots-on-the-ground assistance right now to refugees. Here are a few ways to help. Reblog and share this to signal boost if you are able (and please add content to it if you know of additional resources or information). ***You can donate money to the Ukrainian relief campaign through the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) here. ***You can donate money to Caritas of the Przemyśl Archdiocese here. Alternatively- and I’m assuming this applies to those located within Europe (correct me if I’m wrong)- you can send a charity SMS with the following text: UKRAINE, to No. 72052, or you can make a payment to the Caritas account of the Przemyśl Archdiocese, with the note UKRAINE to: BANK PEKAO SA I O. Przemyśl 33 1240 2568 1111 0000 3629 7045 If you are in Poland, Caritas is in immediate need of the following items: blankets,sleeping bags,pillows,duvets,linens,mattresses,medical and personal hygiene supplies,clothing (preferably new),articles for children and babies (powdered milk, wet wipes, diapers, care products, clothes, high-calorie sweets),food items with a long shelf life, etc.Please collect the above-mentioned items in Przemyśl’s parishes, religious communities, housing estates, schools, workplaces, etc. and deliver them to Caritas facilities.The Polish Red Cross is also accepting the following supplies:LONG-TERM FOOD: canned food, oil, sugar, pasta, flour, oats, rice, tea, coffee, sweets, UHT milk, canned vegetables / fruit (e.g. beans, peas, corn, pineapple, peach), tomato puree in cartons, dried fruit, nuts.PERSONAL HYGIENE SUPPLIES: shower gels, shampoos, soaps, toothbrushes and toothpaste, barrier creams, sanitary napkins, diapers for children, washing liquids, washing-up liquids.DRESSING AGENTS, especially for wounds and burns: thermal blankets, sterile gases, sterile compresses, knitted bands, elastic bandages, ampoules of physiological saline, disinfectants, disposable gloves, sterile bandages, tourniquet, scissors for dressings.They are also collecting NEW blankets and sleeping bags.
