-Half Alive- -“in researching men not raised with their fathers theres a term this is used “Half Alive”. The father can ignite something in the son that the mother can not. For example in African culture the elder men take the young male teens away and put masks on and do these rituals and SCARE the demons out of them. So you had no male principle there to deal with the demons inside, so you acted them out. So you did not have in your life on a consistent basis so thats why they say “Half Alive”. For as long as i could remember ive held and still do hold this great mass of hatred and animosity for my father. I long for the day where i, his first born, can look him in the eye and tell him “see you in hell”. This isnt healthy and i know it but i cant shake this hatred from myself and its probably because i dont care to even though i dont want to hold this grudge. Complicated to say the less. I dont think some understand the magnitude of how important it is to be in their kids life. To me its life or death, sanity and insanity, identity and being lost. Fathers day has always be a day of torment but i really appreciate those who stuck around for theirs, you are real men, real heros and ultimately god sent. For those who stayed thank you. Thank you @drsirinow for sharing and putting me on to the term “Half Alive” that you spoke about in Corey Taylors “The Therapist” episode on Viceland. You are amazing!
