Do you know today is Malcolm X’s birthday? I doubt it. However, if it was Dr. King’s birthday, we wouldn’t hear the end of it. [And I’m not trying to take away from Dr. King because he definitely played a huge role in why we’ve advanced in today’s society.] What about Malcolm? Did he not help us too? Where is his day of observation? Why don’t we get a day off of school or work because of his work in the Civil Rights Movement? The U.S government is hilarious.. They some fufu people. Funny how they celebrate and cherish Dr. King because he fought against them PEACEFULLY [once again, I’m not taking away from King] but they don’t care about Malcolm because he was very stern and rough with his approach to gain equality for his people. Do you people notice? The U.S government liked and preferred the gentle opposition to something they did that treated us like shit! To them, it’s like Malcolm had no right to do whatever it took to defend himself. Y’all were chasing us with dogs, watering us down with hoses, easily throwing us behind bars, lynching and beating us with bars, and setting fire to our homes for crying out loud! Anyway, Happy Birthday to Malcolm X, a revolutionary and brave man and activist that has played a major role in why we are where we are today as a collective unit. I don’t know about the rest of America but you are deeply appreciated by me and I am so grateful for what you’ve done for us. Your legacy and power lives on forever. Rest in paradise, king.Malcolm X May 19, 1925 — February 21, 1965 -- source link
