I lost one of my goldfish last week and I’m really heartbroken about it.It was the goldfish up top - a shubunkin named Kelpie, and he died after a long, drawn-out internal infection which he fought to the bitter end. He was a tough little fish and I’m super proud of him.Second goldfish is Nixie, a sarasa comet. She’s a fussy sweetheart who’s been understandably miserable since her tankmate disappeared. Since Kelpie died she’s been mostly sitting on the bottom of the tank sulking, and not eating. I hope she’s gonna be okay. I want to get a new friend for her soon, but first I want to wait for her to perk up a bit.These guys have been my whole entire world for nigh on three years, so it felt appropriate to do a little tribute artwork for them. They’re my sun and my moon, emotional support, a reason to drag myself out of bed when I was unemployed and super depressed. I’m grateful to still have Nixie, but I’m gonna be hurting about Kelpie for a long time. -- source link
