tcfkag: Fantastic prompt but also, like, a brilliant business idea.Like, imagine what a lifesaver this would be for people with mental or physical disabilities or chronic illnesses who cannot manage a full time dog but would benefit from a weekly visit. Like a visiting nurse but for therapy dogs. I know some shelters have dog walking volunteer programs, but that’s not accessible for a lot of people who might not be able to walk a dog or can’t get out of the house. Seriously, like Meals on Wheels but for dogs? That would be AMAZING. There have been times in the last few years where I’m not sure I would have gotten through without my dogs….being able to provide that to people even on a limited basis….I think I just came up with my retirement plan. What should I call it? Dogs with Spoons? Dog for a Day? Seriously, tell me this wouldn’t be an amazing service for so many spoonies, right? Match the dog to the person’s needs - this person has anxiety so I’d bring the cuddly little puffball. Another person needs to be more active, so I bring the well-trained Goldendoodle who loves to walk. Someone is recovering from a recent amputation - a visit from a three-legged pitbull who will love on them and run around their yard as they practice walking it is.Right? -- source link
