It does take strength to hold a girl in place. Most will fight and kick and thrash from time to time. One has to be firm in one’s convictions. Certain that this is where she wishes to be, that she does wish this confinement - but that she can only want it when she knows it is secure. They fight because they need us to be strong. Need us to want them enough to fight back. If they could overwhelm us or make us doubt then they would not be safe, would not be content, would not be where they needed to be.
