I should know better than going in MCU tags that are not sambucky and sam wilson, but apparently I’m too curious for my own good.Just today, I learned that there are MCU stans who think that Loki is “POC-coded”. Yikes. 1) It’s not a thing. 2) Even if it were a thing Loki wouldn’t be.And I also made the mistake of going into the Phastos tag only to read a review complaining about Phastos’ husband lack of screentime (which is understandable), but then decided that since we didn’t get to see his husband much Phastos was bad representation because of it..??? And all the more so since there were other canon queer couples (yes, ok, until that point I could follow) but they then managed to add the line I hate seeing when it comes to Phastos, they complained that there were other MCU couples like Steve & Bucky who were “right there”.Other reasons why Ben & Phastos are not great rep: Ben’s name is too bland and too western, also heteronormativity because they’re married with a kid in a house, which could be an interesting argument I guess, but I’m pretty sure that the person who wrote that review wouldn’t have complained about heteronormativity if Steve and Bucky had been the one getting married, had a kid and a house with a white picket fence. -- source link
