laurendestefano:When you have a tweet go semi viral, sometimes you get copycats. This one is pretty special however. A feminism page with nearly 700k followers took my tweet without credit and has been enjoying thousands of RTs, promoting their own traffic and monetizing from sponsored tweets. I politely asked them to credit. They have ignored me and gone on to tweet a bunch of other stuff soon. So I guess their message is to promote feminism by erasing women entirely and using their words as their own. It’s deeply frustrating as there have been news outlets and even local tv broadcasts quoting this tweet, often crediting my words to someone else. I don’t have to tell you guys how important words and ideas are to me. We quote poets and artists and humble peasants such as myself every day, and we attach their names because we know that our words are an extension of our selves. They’re all that’s left of us when we’re gone. I would greatly appreciate if you could kindly leave this account a response asking them to credit me. Any reblogs to get word out would help miles.
