I’m so upset to stumble across videos of people copybotting Second Life objects for Sims. No one has a right to other people’s creations, these are items that people have spent hours, weeks, months making and they earn their living from it. This world is completely different to Sims, it has strict laws and it’s all dealt in a real currency. Stealing their stuff is not only super shitty but illegal too. Using seedy viewers to get things doesn’t protect you and I’ve personally witnessed multiple lawsuits from copybotting. I have a store on there and I’d be so upset if someone stole my work. It doesn’t matter if you credit them, it doesn’t matter if you don’t profit from it, it’s just ridiculously entitled that anyone feels they can just take someones creation. You wouldn’t steal someone’s art from their store in person, so what makes you think it’s okay to do just because it’s online?I hope that anyone thinking of doing this doesn’t follow through with it. I hope that people who are currently doing it stop and delete their items and I hope that we as a community make an effort to not support people who do this. -- source link
