softfilm: orientallyyours: Recently found on eBay- a collection of vintage gelatin silver photos of Chinese Opera performers, circa 1920s The lovely lady lounging in the clam shell at top (and also in the bottom right photo) is Pan Xue-yan 潘雪艳, a popular Chinese opera actress during the 1920s. The British American Tobacco Company licensed her image for their Huafang 华芳 cigarette brand. Small collectible cards featuring Pan posing in the fashions of the day were included in each pack.
