windermeresimblr:Ever since I made a post of Orna modeling some 1580′s fashions a few weeks ago, I’ve been poking around looking for accessory underlayers that had the right historical “look.” I wasn’t very successful, and spent a bit of time moping around before I realized that I could make some. So, Dame Partlet was created–and forgive me the necessary historical digression here. Partlets were the ancestor of the modern camisole or dickey; simple squares of fabric were pinned over or under low-cut bodices for modesty, warmth, or a pop of color. As with all practical garments, they soon evolved into highly ornamented and decorative forms. The name “partlet” is thought to come from the term for a hen’s neck wattle, as ‘Dame Partlet’ is a common name for hens in contemporary fiction. To create this, I took agapir’s medieval nightgown and chopped off the textures below the elbow and just under the bust (north of the navel, but not too far north), and then put them on the base game glove accessory, and…voila. They match the dresses I’ve paired them with fairly well, although I’m the first to admit that the specular is a bit shiny, so you may have to play with the saturation to get the desired effects. Also, I messed up the channel assignment on the embroidered preset, so the embroidery is only recolorable with the third channel; I’m not sure what the second channel recolors.Since they’re full-coverage, your Sims can now wear low-cut, sleeveless, or off-the-shoulder dresses without any lapses in modesty OR having to worry about drafts. It is available for teen to elder Sims in the everyday, formalwear, athletic, career, outerwear, maternity, martial arts, and makeover categories, and can be found in the glove section.Download it here: http://www.simfileshare.net/download/3073012/Credits: agapir, whose textures I hacked and slashed to create this@danjaley and spladoum for the posesEA, @greenplumbboblover, and @simplykitsch for the dressesBEO, Danjaley, and Momo for the hairs -- source link
