30 Days First Age of Arda Challenge 22- What are your thoughts on the The Battle of the Thousand Caves? Elves suck.So I’m on the side of the Dwarves, not because they’re necessarily more right, but because no one else is on their side. The narrative is anti-Dwarf (as it always is), but basically no one is behaving nicely, and it ends in slaughter and mayhem. Part of a longer series of the inhabitants of Middle-earth behaving like jackwagons and getting butt-hurt when it ends badly:“Hey, this is that shiny thing Fëanor’s boys are after so keenly and have killed people to try to get. I know, I’ll keep it, because it’s pretty and I’m pretty. And I’ll piss off the dwarves, too, while I’m at it, because they’re ugly. King of the Year is in the bag.”Thingol dies though, in this battle, and that’s cool. I hate that guy.
