Golden Hour ft. Ty Roderick & Nico NovaBy Davey Wavey, Founder of Himeros.tv Photographers and models often speak about tension between artist and subject. And, oftentimes, the best art is created by photographers who authentically appreciate their subjects. As an extension of the photographer, the lens becomes our window into their mind – and the resulting photographers are an opportunity to see the model as the artist does. We, too, can fall in love with the curves, tones and textures being depicted. But in reality, this tension is often accompanied by power dynamics that favor the photographer. We’ve all heard countless stories of hungry and eager models being taken advantage of by photographers with clout or industry connections. The promise of making it big becomes the justification for unwanted advances. In today’s video, we see that dynamic flipped. It’s the model who, through language and actions, seduces the photographer. The tired formula is turned on its head, and it’s the model who crosses boundaries to get what he wants. And even though he doesn’t hold the power, he is persistent and aggressive in pursuit of his desires. For me, the real joy of this scene is the passionate and connected sex that transpires. Nico and Ty are deeply sensual. In the many ways that their sex is different, it becomes a welcome break from the same old sex we often see depicted in gay porn. My favorite moments in the film are told through the eyes. At one point, while topping Nico, Ty stares so deeply into Nico’s face that you swear his soul is visible. He looks into Nico in a way that he’s fully seen, but with a dominating power that asserts, “You are mine.” It’s enough to get anyone wet. -- source link
