This was my outfit for my comm’s recent Valentine’s Day/Lunar new year meet. This amazing jacket with its sometimes reddish, sometimes purple colour was the piece that I centred the coord around - I love its 18th century inspired design! I tried to follow the historical influence with a wide bustled skirt. However, I think overall I’m not that happy with the final look…there are a few layers going on here and I felt a bit lumpy.I thought about going down a 18th century chinoiserie path to tie the outfit into lunar new year, but I don’t think I had any pieces that were really suitable for it (mustard seems to be a much more popular colour for chinoiserie from the time, as well as printed items influenced by asia). Perhaps next time.
