“Y-you only had power over me ‘c-cause I gave you it. But no more. You jus’ a shadow t’ me now…a shadow I been lettin’ hang over me too damn long. When you really b’long under me…if you b’long anywhere near me a’tall.“T’day…I’m gonna live my life…an’ r’deem myself in my own way…an’ you’ll get no say in any of it! I sure ain’t gon’ let you keep ruin’n’ snakes for me! “An’ by th’ way…I’m sorry. I’m sorry I did what I did t’you. B-but it was either you or him…an’ if I had t’ do it all over again…I would. “Now go! Go on, get outta here! I don’ care where y’go but you ain’t welcome with me no more! Get outta my way! I’m goin’ t’ see th’ White Snake Sage! Y’ever come back, I’mma tell you th’ same thing I’m tellin’ ya now! GO!” …A hauntingly gorgeous art commission drawn by the talented @ravysu! The scene is based on Aina’s journey to Ryuchi Cave to conquer a fear of snakes she had developed since getting out of Otogakure and pursuing the life of a hermit. The figure standing before her and taunting her is not the real Orochimaru. Rather, it’s a genjutsu conjured up by one of the White Snake Sage’s attendants as part of their customary trials, based on Aina’s own troubled and guilty heart and mind. Although it doesn’t end all her troubles, Aina is able to pull through and break out of it by asserting her will. The problem was never the snakes. What she’d really needed to do was break the association she’d made between them and Orochimaru. And she succeeds. Seriously, if you love the Sannin as much as I do, you simply must follow and commission this artist! They are overwhelmingly talented and nice! -- source link
