theauspolchronicles:An estimated 600,000 eligible voters aren’t enrolled to vote - and have until April 18th to do it in time for the Federal election (May 18th).This is a massive amount of people that could change the outcome of the election. That means that we need to make sure as many people as possible are aware of the deadline by reblogging this, posting information on Facebook, twitter, instagram, etc, and informing them to go to www.aec.gov.au/enrol/ And for those who have moved house since the last election it’s important to update your details: www.aec.gov.au/enrol/change-address.htm and if you’ve changed your name: www.aec.gov.au/enrol/change-name.htmIf you’re unsure if your details are up to date you can check via: https://check.aec.gov.au/It is incredibly important to spread this information before April 18th! Together we can change the future of Australia and the best way to do that is to make sure as many people as possible vote! Remember: politicians want to stay in power, and they do that by putting forward policies to large enough demographics that they can get elected. If you don’t vote they don’t care about making policies that benefit you so enrol to vote and make sure your friends do too! Together we can make a change! While national enrolment is quite high - youth enrolment isn’t. 15% of eligible voters aged 18-24 aren’t enrolled - AND THAT’S ENOUGH TO SWING MULTIPLE SEATS AWAY FROM THE LIBERALS/NATIONALS!Seriously - young people! Young people are so powerful, capable, and important - and they’ve got until 8pm sharp on 18th of April to FINISH ENROLLING TO VOTE! -- source link
