romegreeceart:Coin minted in Trier with an image of Tetricus I, who was the last emperor of Gallic Empire. His rule ended at the Battle of Chalons in 274 but Tetricus was offered pretty good peace terms by victorious emperor Valerian. Admitted, Gallic empire ceased to exist, but Tetricus’ own life was spared and Valerian actually made him a Roman senator and also a governor of a Roman province.Provenance/Rights: Digitales Münzkabinett der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf / Sebastian Lindermann [CC BY-NC-SA] -- source link
