aestate-oscula:A 2,000-year-old Ancient Roman cream - complete with fingerprintsFound in a mid-second century Roman Temple in Southwark, London (2003)(X)i like the fingerprints as it humanises the object. cos sometimes when you do look at objects from the past it can be difficult to imagine that someone actually used and held that object thousands of years ago. it just makes it more than an object.and you know what really bothers me is how can you lose objects like this? like did someone leave it behind or…? in fact, how do you lose anything in general and then it pops up in the ground thousands of years later??? -- source link
